I am a M.Sc at BARCO LAB with special interest in environmental and social implications of plastic pollution in marine systems.
Plastics are a major contaminant in the world’s oceans, large plastics continuously degrade to smaller sized plastics and are the precursor of risks from smaller plastics usually called microplastics. . Plastic debris has been reported in coral reefs and it threatens not only the health of our seas but also our economy and communities. My research focuses on microplastic contamination in artisanal fisheries and their relationship with reef fish functional traits.
