I am a BSc student at BARCO LAB with special interest on reef physical and biological characteristics and their influence on the structure of reef fish assemblages.
Structural coplexity is often positive associated with abundance and diversity of fishes. Microhabitat diversity and some coral species can have a positive effect on fish diversity and community structure. The complex architecture of coral colonies constitute the living space for many small reef fishes. My research focuses on assess physical attributes of coral colonies to understand how smaller fishes use finerscale strucural complexity, in the National Park Reefs of Puerto Morelos, México.
